Mom picked this costume up from one of the ladies at her church who made it for her granddaughter a while back. She was complete with a basket full of candy, a few dollar bills, and one orange of course, to take to grandma's house....isn't that how the story goes? I guess when you're 4 anything goes...

Halloween
This year Brooke wanted to dress up like a genie for Halloween. If you could see the details of her "up do" up close you would notice the massive amounts of spray glitter in her hair, along with the clip-on hoop earrings. As Halloween got closer and closer her costume was starting to take the shape of a gypsy rather that a genie....either way she looked adorable and had a blast going trick or treating around the neighborhood. Her mommy and daddy are still enjoying the candy.
Also, Brooke's preschool puts on a "Mother Goose" Party every Halloween where the kids can come dressed up as a character from their favorite nursery rhyme. And NO.....neither Hannah Montana nor Dora went up the hill with Jack to fetch a pail of water. You'd be surprised at how many questionable costumes show up at her school that day. Anyway, Brooke chose Little Red Riding Hood this year for the "Duck Duck Goose" Party.....that's what she calls it...cute, huh?

Helping in the yard...
Back Again!
Well, I'm back and trying out this whole blogging thing again. Hopefully I can keep it going longer this time. I wanted to start blogging again to help my family stay in touch with what's going on with us in Douglasville. It's been tough on us..being 5 hours away from my parents, Cece and Pops, that anything we can do to connect makes life much better.
Brooke misses her Cece and Pops and talks about them often. She's always doing the cutest and funniest things too....I wish we lived closer together. We've got another one on the way...and we recently picked out a name for her too. Sydney Reese Walker is due on February 10, 2009. We are excited, but not quite ready. I have so much to do at work and at home to prepare to be a mom of 2. I'm really looking foward to the change though. I'm sure that comes as a surprise to my family. I had a long and difficult "adjustment period" with the birth of Brooke. However, I also had way too much ocurring in my life at that same time (new job, building a home, etc.) so I can't say that it was all to blame on being a new mom. I just know that things will be much
smoother this time. And hey, who knows, if Reese is half as good a baby as our Brooke was.....we may just turn right around and have another one.
Brooke slept in rollers for Preschool Picture Day. They were the soft spongy kind that my mom used on my hair when I was little. I hated them, but Brooke would sleep in them every night if I wanted her too. She looked precious, and the school pictures turned out great.
